Kjellander + Sjöberg

Kjellander + Sjöberg is an award winning Stockholm based practice operating within the fields of architecture and urbanism. Our projects range from landscape integrated design, public and cultural projects to offices and residential buildings of various scales.

The work of K+S addresses urban, cultural and social aspects of contemporary society. K+S is dedicated to architecture that allows interaction, change, accessibility, diversity, and improvisation. Our main focus is the development of new ideas and values – to improve, adapt and invent.

The project‘s program is constantly reviewed; how it relates to context, how it‘s transformed in the process and how it‘s translated into a built environment. Expanding the assignment or the plot further and understanding and visualizing the bigger context provides depth, purpose and clarity to our buildings. Our architecture goes beyond the given, and we’re inspired by buildings and spaces with expanding possibilities. Consequently we explore, bend and manipulate the boundaries of landscape and architecture – between cities, buildings and typologies - to establish a new sustainable relationship.

The office is continuously involved in various teams and collaborations with clients, builders, urban planners, structural engineers and a large number of other specialists. Our emphasis lies on dialogue, workshops and input from all parties throughout the design process. The office is led by partners Ola Kjellander, Stefan Sjöberg, Mi Inkinen and Lena Viterstedt.
