Philosophy
Snøhetta has developed a reputation for maintaining a strong relationship between landscape and architecture in all of its projects.
The site and context of each project is considered unique and provides a strong point of departure for the design.
Architecture cannot be contained simply by rules of order, instead it must accommodate the restless mind of human society. It must accept associations developed by larger numbers of characters beyond the discipline of the architect.
Snøhetta is committed to the idea of teamwork throughout the entirety of the designprocess. We place the highest possible emphasis upon input from all parties, from client to builder. By creating strong initial concept, we are able to accommodate a wide variety of modifications to the scheme without scarifying the qualities envisioned.
