The award-winning Shure Inc. Technology Center is a state-of-art technical facility for the design and testing of their products. The 75,000sf addition is designed to complement their existing signature headquarters building, attract and retain engineering staff and communicate the high quality of Shure products to customers.

The solution is a high-bay long span steel frame building, clad in glass and steel panels. Natural light is controlled by use of fixed louvers. Testing laboratories and other technically autonomous spaces are given tighter control of light, air quality and acoustic isolation inside enclosed pavilions on the main floor. Staff areas occupy a glazed mezzanine overlooking the testing floor. This integration of engineering and office staff within one building promotes better communication and efficiency between these historically separate groups of professionals.
