The church design takes its inspiration from the character of the place - the flat commons, the distinctive quickset hedges and the scattered, diffuse dense, low-rise housing schemes. The approach to the church is defined by the church tower which marks the forecourt like a campanile. Over time the oak forest will grow up to form a green frame around the church and delineate the site from the surroundings. The church appears as a new building from 1994 - but the choice of materials and the attention to detail refer to the traditions of construction workmanship and the spatial experience of Danish village churches.
